Personal Touches
It may be quarantine brain or it may be our reconnection to our families. But I have been seeing recent micro weddings having a more personal connection to them. Having your aunt make your cookie bar or your sister cover your grazing table can be such a heartfelt touch. I have even had couples split the difference and outsource some of the decor/ food and combine it with personal touches. One of my favorite personal touches was from the wedding last weekend where the altar took place in front of the bride’s family home and her mom actually grew the pumpkins that decorated the altar. Such a sweet touch!
If you need set-up/ decor help, I can’t recommend My Pretty Little Picnic enough! If it’s grazing board help you need, my go-to is always Tiffany at Easyylivin
2. Personal Location
As well as incorporating special touches/ details to your wedding, having a micro wedding can open up ceremony locations. Like above, many couples choose to get married at their family home and I am in love with this trend! How incredibly special to share the beginning of your marriage in a location that means so much to you. If my wife and I were in this predicament, I would highly consider getting married at my childhood home, it would be the perfect backdrop. Besides your family home, you can choose something more adventurous and location that is specific for just the two of you…
3. Epic Location
Have your micro wedding in an epic location! Hike up a mountain and get married amongst the forest or travel to a hidden chapel in the desert. Take the moment to explore somewhere special (and possibly new!) to you both.
4. Less Stress
We all know wedding planning is stressful with the large wedding parties, different vendors, wedding gifts, seating charts, entertainment and so much more! With a micro wedding, you two can narrow down your must-haves and forget the rest!
5. Last but not least, You can actually still get married!!
