When Elissa + Jess first reached out to have their engagement session I knew they were my type of people. We instantly connected and had so much fun at their consultation. Jess told me all about her proposal to Elissa in Utah. It was such an intimate lesbian proposal in the middle of the Utah mountains. We planned to go out to Three Rivers, which is just below Sequoia National Park. The forecast was rain for the day, but Elissa + Jess were troopers and still wanted to move forward with their session! Some couples + photographers are afraid of having their session or wedding in the rain, but let me tell you, it can still produce amazing photos! Although, it did rain a lot harder than we expected, it still was an unforgettable engagement + proposal!

Tell me about your first date?

Well, Jess made me wait two months for our first date – also, early days in the pandemic so I think my future mother in law played a role there too. When we finally set a date, we made pizza from scratch, listened to vinyl, drank craft beer and got lost in conversation until about 1am.

What is your favorite thing about one another?

Jess: she gives me roots, a safe place, a home and wings, to explore, create and always be better. Elissa: I love how big her heart is and she makes me a better person. She leads with love in all that she does.
